| Any feedback on Brookfield Elementary School in the Chantilly region. Its rated a 4. Another question is are there a lot of low income kids in the school - is that why its called a Title 1 school. Any feedback appreciated. |
| Bump |
| Title 1 = low income. 4 is a low rating. Look elsewhere |
| Yep, lots of brown kids and lots of free lunches. Unless you want your kids around that sort of riff raff, I’d stay away. |

We live somewhat nearby and our neighborhood school is a 5. We are really happy with it and turned down the AAP center for our oldest.
In this area the great schools number is purely a function of how many FARM or ESOL kids happen to be zoned for the school. A school with a SN center located within the school could lower the score as well. Brookfield is 50% FARMs -there are some inexpensive apartment buildings in its boundary so the 4 makes sense. |
| I believe Greenbriar East and Greenbriar West are better options |
DP with a very similar experience. Neighborhood school is a 5 and we didn't send our kid to the AAP center because we're happy where we are. I do have one friend whose kids go to Brookfield; she's a former FCPS teacher and is very happy with the school. |
