I expect Barb makes about as much as the original dads. But everyone who is on camera gets paid at least a little bit. All of the friends, hangers on, sisters brothers, cousins, hairdressers. Anybody who the girls talk to gets something for being on film. |
| Well Jenelle just bought her 6th engagement ring. Congrats. I guess. |
I'm 26 and watch. All my friends in their twenties watch it as well. Been watching since 16 and preg days. It's been proven the show has helped lower teen pregnancy in America. |
|
^^the teen pregnancy rate may be down, but there's no "proof" that this show shares any credit for it.
That said, I teach high school and the show is popular among my students, so now, it's not all 40-year-olds. |

Just catching up so I'm behind...
I'm surprised that America and MTV haven't lashed out at Kailyn for being so crappy to Javi while he was DEPLOYED. I get that he might not be a winner and obviously the show doesn't show everything, but for her to be so rude and mean and disrespectful to someone who is SERVING OUR COUNTRY is pretty terrible. I'm not military but I just feel strongly that no deployed person deserves to be treated how he was.
|
You act like he was drafted. He CHOSE to go into the military knowing deployment was a possibility. He didn't have to take a job that would involve traveling away from his toddler son for long periods of time. |
But not having an education doesn't leave you with many choices. She should've waited to have baby #2 but she didn't so Javi needed a job and insurance STAT. I don't know what the rush is. She was maybe 22 or 23 when she has Lincoln. |
Javi joined the military before they had Lincoln. He had planned to join before they met. They did their courthouse wedding before he went to boot camp so that she had access to benefits from the start and that any move of his factored in a wife. And people have been going nuts on her on social media. Mostly because she's a horrible person, not because he was in the military. |
The show really made it seem like she pushed him into joining the Air Force, though IMO. She never even seemed like she loved him, she just wanted benefits. This was before they were really raking in the money for the show. It's exceedingly shitty to convince someone to join the military and then have it be fine and dandy until his first deployment. |
She doesn't love anyone but herself. As her kids grow up, they'll experience that as well. |
I don't care if he was drafted or chose it or willing walked to Iraq. No deployed soldier deserves to be treated the way he was and I'm surprisedMTV doesn't dump her because of it. |
|
Nobody who travels extensively for work deserves to be treated the way she treated him. She's terrible for sure. |
The way Kail has been treating the MTV crew, they may dump her anyway. |
Seriously. OT looks like this entire half-season was filmed the same week, and she keeps not wanting to talk about anything private on camera. Well, bim, maybe not be one of the stars of a reality show then. |
