There is no way they’d release a photo if that were the case. Use your head. It was a dumb idea to photoshop. They released a photo to calm the crazies and in turn just created an unnecessary PR mess. Someone was careless and won’t have a job on Monday.

I cannot imagine any scenario in which they get a divorce. I think he’d do what British kings did for generations—put the wife you’re sick of in a nice country estate someplace and carry on with your mistress (more discretely now though). Bring her out with the jewels on stare events. She doesn’t want a divorce. And neither does he. They may want separate lives but they e got tons of houses so that’s easy enough.

The stroke suggestion is very possible. I know woman the same age that have had strokes due to minor medical procedures—it’s a risk with anesthesia and women are at higher risk especially if on birth control.

So just to be clear here - in the Public Relations industry, a “kill notification” is the coup de grâce of the media circuit. For AP to issue this update, means that something is TERRIBLY wrong. Think of it as a Cat. 5 cyclone. This is literally a death blow to any press source.

Agree. If she’s dead, there’s no way to hide it forever. The BRF would get an outpouring of sympathy and Wills, the poor widower, could go on to date and find a second wife.

Alternatively:

They are separated and fighting over divorce and custody. William and his people released the Mother's Day photo, in which they heavily doctored a previous photo, maybe even splicing two photos together, to make it seem like the photo was taken recently. And Kate and her family, in an effort to undermine this narrative from William, arranged for Kate to be photographed by a paparazzi in the car with her mom specifically to make it obvious that William's photo was fake.

I think the woman in the car is Kate, still recovering from surgery and likely also under a lot of stress due to whatever the heck is happening with William and the BRF. I think that photo is from last year or maybe even partially AI generated, and was released with the express goal of quelling rumors, which raises the question as to why.

They go public with that now pretty quickly. Imagine all the sympathy they would get. I don’t think it’s that.

I agree. Increasingly I feel the explanation for the weird PR cannot be related to her health because there simply would not be a reason for this level of cover up. Say she has a semi-embarrassing issue like a colostomy bag and wants to keep it private. Totally understandable! They could do the whole "abdominal surgery" thing and protect her medical privacy, but still post some ACTUAL photos of her from the shoulders up so that people see that she's doing okay. She could even make some kind of video appearance for something (literally pick any of her charities or pet subjects and just have her record a short video congratulating someone or with a PSA on an issue), all without disclosing the specific condition. Even if she is looking unwell -- they have teams of hair and makeup people, they could make her look well enough for a photo or short video.

If it was something much more serious like a coma or a stroke, it would make no sense to try and cover it up (unless it was actually due to an act of violence committed by another member of the family, which still sounds like a crazy theory to me) -- there would be a huge outpouring of support for her if her condition was disclosed. And something like that is bound to come out later anyway, so there's just no reason to try and keep it hidden. At least not for this long -- it would be one thing to hush it up for a week or something so the family could acclimate and to create a game plan for the kids, but for months? It doesn't make sense.

I am starting to buy the divorce or separation rumors, because that would explain why all the weirdness and conflicting stories. I just don't see how a genuine health concern results in the present situation. If it turns out she really just had a pre-planned abdominal surgery and is at home happily recovering with her family, none of this makes any sense.

I agree with all of this. I’m leaning towards the dissolution of their marriage as well. It will be a PR nightmare of epic proportions, considering what it stands for, as the son of Diana. I don’t think they know how to navigate what is happening and are panicking. The “surgery” stalled them (it may or may not have happened), then the announcement of the recovery until April bought them some time, then Charles took one for the team and diverted attention, twice actually, now the picture, which was supposed to hold people over for the month. Only it didn’t work and now they are out of time. I will be curious to see if anything happens tomorrow, especially after today’s wild speculations.

I think it really is emergency “abdominal surgery” but Will and Kate mistakenly believe they’re entitled to privacy. They’re public figures funded by taxpayers and next in line to the throne. The public deserves an explanation. If Will and Kate don’t like the attention, they should get out of line and find jobs as private citizens.
