...with 4 yr old (never did time change before) a week during spring break. My friend thinks I should avoid california for a while. Where would you go? Any other ideas for where southwest flies - have some expiring $$ |
Savannah or Florida. Warm, and not such a long flight. San Diego is 5 hours. |
Charleston is so beautiful in the spring. It smells good too! I love their children's museum. I would do Charleston and avoid the long flight and maybe do a bigger California trip when child is older |
San Diego hands down. What's wrong with California. We live here. |
4 yr old's go to Europe. If you are going for a week then california is great. If you have to, Savannah is way better than Charleston for kids that age. Not sure if southwest flies there. |
I agree Savannah is better than Charleston. |
I say San Diego and I totally disagree re Savannah vs Charleston! San Diego just so beautiful and kid friendly and you will feel like you are on a vacation. I go to both Savannah and Charleston a lot. Both are similar in some ways but - especially for a kid - Charleston is ocean based - Savannah is near an ugly part of the Atlantic (Tybee Island.) Parks also are similar but the parks in Charleston are pretty, better located. Good food in both - but harder to get outside of the cheesy touristy areas of Savannah. |
San Diego for the zoos. |
I think Charleston is WAY better than Savannah for kids. And adults! |
San Diego |
It can be quite foggy and chilly in SD in March. |
Great zoo in DC. Don't go if it's just the zoo. |
The zoo in DC does not compare to San Diego zoo ( or most zoos for that matter) |
I think it totally depends on if you want to deal with a longer flight and time change.
I lived in San Diego before kids and loved it. There is tons to do with kids there. It will probably be mid-60s. Not lay on the beach weather, and the water will be FREEZING, but as far as enjoying being outside it will be just fine. Bring jackets for when the sun goes down. As an adult I much prefer Charleston to Savannah. I suspect there is more to do in Charleston and surrounding area for kids too. |
San Diego!!
And no, the DC zoo is not a great zoo compared to the San Diego zoo in safari park. |
