We are going for the first time next week. Any tips on things to do, places to go and eat, especially since it seems like it'll rain a bit while we're there?

My husband is from there and we visit my in-laws down there often. I hope that the weather improves because there is not much to do there. There is an aquarium in Pine Knoll shores that is fun to visit. There is NO shopping in the area with the exception of Wal-Mart. Restaurants are average at best. Shepard's Point in Morehead City is probably the best in the area. I did visit a spa down there last year that was great, here is the link:
