Costco Travel

What was your experience like?

I contacted them about a trip to Disneyland, and it was less expensive for me to book it myself. So don't assume they'll be cheaper than anything else.

I use them exclusively for rental cars. 1 or 2 rentals saves enough to pay for the Costco membership.
I used them for hotel/car package in Kona and they were so much cheaper than anything else.

I've booked two cruises through them and rented numerous cars. They recently (re)started hotel-only bookings and we have a room booked in Toronto in June. No issues.

Is it all online or do you call a travel # and deal with a human? I don’t know why I don’t know anything about this.

We booked a flight/resort to Jamaica and costco was just about the same price if we did it ourselves, but they offered a resort credit though so I guess costco would've been cheaper.
We didn't go with costco though bc we wanted the beach front accommodations at the resort and costco only had beach view and garden accommodations.

You can do either.

Not fully experienced yet, but we just booked our first Costco trip.

Got two $100 credits that wouldn’t have come with booking it ourselves. Plus they seem to have fair trip cancellation refunds. And a room upgrade which maybe could have happened anyway, but I’m not sure.

We've done rental cars and resorts through them. Great prices, no issues. The first time I was -very- nervous about what we would be getting but everything worked out with no problems at all. I even had had times for cars when I've rented then canceled cars several times as rates decreased. Still no issues. Costco beat the other rates, including our USAA rate.

Booked an all inclusive to Cancun last summer. Super nervous but all was ok. We ended up with an upgraded room bc of booking issues and I was assertive about what we would take and an return airline connection issue that had nothing to do with the Costco booking. I'm a pretty seasoned traveler so had no issues handling things as they arose. For someone who hasn't done a lot of traveling/would like the ease having a travel agent would be better. However, we saved a bunch of money and had Coctco gc as part of the package that made the trip a great deal for us.

Booked a cruise with them. Everything went great and there were lots of extras (cupcakes, wine, etc.) in the room as part of the package.

can't beat the rental car prices

The rental car prices are excellent, I haven’t found them to be as competitive for my other travel needs

As others have mentioned, their prices are usually the same as elsewhere , but they offer resort or excursion credits, access to the first class lounge, express check in at the airport, stuff like that. I’m a NP who used them for a trip to Jamaica and we were happy.

Did you all still earn hotel or airline loyalty points when booking through Costco? I couldn't get a definitive answer to this question and went ahead and booked directly through the airline/hotel. I don't play around when it comes to points.
