Hotwire? Priceline? How do these work?

I have never used any of these services since as a SAHM I never travelled. Now the kids area grown and gone and I’m ready to start getting out for some adventures. having never used these, is it a bid and just accept what you get deal? Do you not know what your options are?

I'm not a fan of the "name your own price", but do like to use Priceline's Express Deals (which are like Hotwire).

It doesn't tell you the name of hotel... but you can usually figure out which hotel it is by checking the ones they have on their site (regular price) and comparing the area and features.

You can get some good deals, and you pretty much know where.
