Best neighborhood for DH and i to stay in Chicago

| We will be meeting in Chicago for a romantic weekend together. We don't plan on renting a car and would like to be in a walkable neighborhood with great restaurants, bars, and shopping. Recommendations? |

| Somewhere on the Miracle Mile. Or the Fairmont Millenium Park. Or the Monaco on Wabash. |

| River North. Close to everything, including the Magnificent Mile for shopping. Lots of restaurants and bars. |

| I think we stayed in the "north loop" which was a great location from which to explore the city. We did the hop-on, hop-off bus, which was really fun! |
