Shady grove ivf insurance verification time

Anonymous
Hey everyone

I get some ivf insurance coverage through my company. I’ was wondering how much time would it take for sg to verify my ivf benefit and start my ivf cycle

Any experience, please share.

Thanks

I had to provide my insurance information before my consult. The same day I met with Dr Widra, I met with a financial counselor who had a print out of what was covered and what was not.

They are relatively quick. But it's all up to insurance. If you are with Aetna anticipate long turn around time. They have numerous requirements, like FSH result on day 3 of the cycle and enrolling into their infertility program to be per-approved before you can begin the process. They also have a separate department for approval of medications. This all has to be in place before you begin IVF. That being said, if you have a relatively intelligent financial counselor at SGF she can help you meet the requirements but you still have a lot of leg work to do by yourself. I can certify that I spent more time on Aetna than on my IVF treatment.

I sent the insurance details more than 2 weeks ago, but still I get a response from the financial counselor that the verification is not complete. And that it can take a few weeks to get the policy verified during the start of the year.
