| My son will be starting Kindergarden next year and school hours are 8:30-315. What is the earliest I can drop him off and the latest I can pick him up? Trying to figure out what to do with work hours. |

The earliest you can drop-off will likely be 8:10. Pick-up is at 3:15pm
If this doesn’t work for you, you might want to look into SACC. |
| You will need to be at the school st 3:15pm. Our kindergarten teachers hand off the kids to the parents between 3:25-3:30pm. Our official dismissal is 3:30pm. There is no waiting area. Someone has to be there for pickup at dismissal. |
| Ask the school. What we say here is only our own experience at different schools--yours might have slightly different procedures or might be in a different school system from where posters' kids go (people post on this forum from FCPS, Alexandria schools, Arlington schools)...Talk to the school now. You don't have to wait until summer or fall to ask. |

If there is a kiss n ride area for pick up, Kids will start getting in cars at 3:15 and the kids n ride line may stay open until 3:25.
We have 10 minutes past bell to get in the line. This, of course, will be subject to the specific school; each may have different kids n ride rules. |
| We use private after care since we are SACC waitlisted and I can’t risk being stuck in traffic. It’s worth it since I don’t have to worry about constantly leaving early. Look into private options if you can’t get into SACC and if you need to work earlier or later. |
| Get on the SACC list now if you aren’t already! |
