Hi -

Is there a place to use a scale to weigh a baby?
I live in McLean.

Thanks.

Do you have a scale at home? Just weigh yourself with baby. Then weigh yourself w/o baby. Subtract. Voila!

The supermarket produce aisle? Kidding!

That's actually not a bad idea.

If it something that you will be doing on a routine basis and you need something more accurate than a home scale (ours only goes to the .5 pound), then considering renting a baby from the Breastfeeding Center at K Street -- $35 a month, but I think they have weekly rates as well.

Or just ask your pediatrician if you can go for a quick weigh-in.

Do they rent babies?
For how long?
What's the rate?

Hi,
When I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area, the hospital had a maternity center where I can bring a baby to weigh on a digital scale. They also had a breastfeeding support group there. Is there such a place near McLean? Thanks.

A breast feeding center - either the one in Fairfax or in DC.

You can just walk in for weigh-ins - no charge or anything.

It depends on the weight - why do you think she needs a scale?

Awww, come on guys! I'm just trying to help out and be nice! We had a tiny baby and the doc wanted us to make sure she was gaining an ounce a day for her first month, so we rented a baby scale rather than go to the dr office every other day.

We bought one at Buy Buy Baby and used a 20% off coupon. I think it was $28 total.
