| I suspect this is why I could have had a miscarriage. My periods have been very inconsistent and had brown blood spotting for a week right before my period starts with no cramps. Then I’ll have a month where it’s red bright blood from day 1 and severe cramps. Is it possible I’m ovulating only half the time? Can my ob do anything? The nurses line keeps reassuring me this can be normal. Should I just make a dr appt? |
Go see a reproductive endocrinologist. Many normal ob guns aren’t big about figuring out hormones, but reproductive endos are. I’ve seen Dr James A Simon in DC and he is excellent. They will test you fully and advise you. |
| Yes to what PP recommends. When I went to my OB after 10 months of TTC my second at 32, he told me as long as I was still having regular periods that it was unlikely a problem with me, more likely my spouse. When I followed up with an RE, she immediately was able to identify that I do in fact have DOR. I did not have any obvious symptoms of it aside from not having a single pregnancy in many many cycles of trying. |

I have been TTC for 3 years, zero pregnancies. I have a 4 year old who I got pregnant with right away. My AMH is .60, my FSH is 5, and my AFC is 10. I've seen a number of REs and they are divided on whether I have DOR or not. Dr. Davis at Cornell told me I don't have DOR but am unexplained. Shady Grove thinks DOR though.
I'd say my only "symptom" besides zero pregnancies in 3 years and an AMH less than 1 was slightly shortened cycles (like 26 days versus normal 28 days). I had that for awhile but then it went back to 28 days and I'm still not pregnant so I really have no idea. |
| I have diagnosed POF. Symptoms include NO periods and super high FSH (in the hundreds). I was 32 when I was diagnosed. I'm not a doctor, but it doesn't sound like you have POF. Perhaps DOR. There's not much that can be done for POF. I became a mom through egg donation. |
| My two main symptoms were really short cycles, 18-22 days, and really short periods they were light and lasted only 2 days. |
