Post IUD

I’m going to have my IUD out in attempts to TTC our first baby at 36. If you removed your mirena, how long did you wait to start trying and how long did it take you to get pregnant without intervention? For the sake of conversation I’d prefer hearing from ladies 30+. Thanks

We started trying as soon as the removal bleeding was done (it was like a heavy period for a week post removal). I got pregnant without intervention 9 months later at 32.

With my first, I got my Mirena out and started temping and trying immediately. I had some removal bleeding, the first cycle was a little wacky, then I settled back into my regular cycle. It took 6 months at age 30.

Now at age 33 I just had my Mirena out 6 weeks ago to TTC #2. I didn't have any removal bleeding and still haven't gotten a period. I'm doing OPK's, but not temping, so not 100% sure if I'm ovulating yet.

I'm 32. I got my mirena out, had a week of heavy removal bleeding and began trying after that. I got a regular (light) period about two weeks later after the removal bleeding that lasted maybe 4 days, and then two weeks later I got a BFP. So I got pregnant the first month of trying after the removal.

Good luck!

Forgot to mention that this is baby #2, and this was the first time I used an IUD - I got it put in after baby #1. Baby #1 was conceived easily too (about 3-4 months of trying) at the age of 30.

I am 43, just had my mirena removed because it was causing me pain, and I just found out I am pregnant after 1 cycle (because I'm an idiot and had one instance of unprotected sex before my pills kicked in). I also got pregnant at age 41 but actually trying (as did my mom so I'm thinking I just am super fertile).

I had my Mirena removed in mid-November but didn’t start trying until January. Didn’t have sex last 2weeks if Nov due to family visiting and holiday craziness. Dec we just didn’t hit the right timing but weren’t doing anything to prevent. I used OPKs in January and just found out I’m pregnant- so 1 month of actively trying.

I got mine out in Jan. and had very light period a couple weeks later (no removal bleeding). We started TTC immediately and I did get a positive OPK so I think I ovulated. In TTW now. Oh, and I'm 36.

I'm 30 years old and had my Mirena removed in the beginning of October and had no bleeding. My husband and I started trying immediately. I had one light period at end of October and another in the last week of November. I had a positive pregnancy test on 12/23 and am still expecting. We started trying in October but it was confusing because I didn't know when to expect my period since I hadn't had one in so long. I say it took one to two months to get pregnant because in October everything was getting adjusted from the Mirena.

OP, I'm having mine removed today. I had a regular period with the IUD so hoping my cycle stays fairly consistent. Fingers crossed I can come back here and say it happened the first month! 30+.
