Tell me about Norway's Fjords

Anonymous
We are planning a trip to Scandinavia this summer. I would like to see a Norwegian fjord, and visit Copenhagen and Stockholm. We have about 10 days all together--possible? We can fly into one city and out another, which should save some time. 10 year old and 6 year old. We have a fairly generous budget, so would be willing to spend money where it is worth it. Any other bits of advice or recommendations? Thank you!

Do it!!! They are all gorgeous. Don't bother with Oslo. You can take the famous train from Oslo to Bergen and do the Nutshell tour. Or rent a car around Bergen or - my favorite - Alesund. We went with a 2 year old so it's very doable. Enjoy!

Lovely! Don't skip Oslo...it's gorgeous. We went on a tour...ferry...to see the fjords and it was great. But, even in the summer, It was cold on the boat...bring layers and gloves/scarves.

We rented a car at Oslo’s airport and drove to laerdal and camped at that campsite. From there we drove all over including a bunch of ferries. Everything was so gorgeous I would not have wanted to change a thing. Every second driving was amazing.

Walk on the glacier and ferry through the naerofjord. Those are musts. There is a hotel that has an unbelievable view near gudvangen. It’s called stalheim. There is a hairpin drive between waterfalls right below. So worth it. Another look out called stegastein was cool.

There is the worlds lobgest road tunnel too. We drove from Oslo to the fjord and found ourselves on top on this awesome mountain. It looked like another world! I cannot reccomend driving enough.
