| Has anyone heard of this diet/fitness routine? Was just about to go to Jenny Craig for a month worth of meals and start going to the gym again and my husband told me research this program. Just seeing if anyone out there has any personal feedback on it? |
| I think Ashton Kutcher has been tweeting about it... |

I have the system, bought it dirt cheap off of Craigslist -- $60. Have not started it yet, but do not plan to follow the diet that closely. Basically, it says to minimize carbs big-time the first 2-3 weeks and then slowly add them back in. Plus, TONS of protein in the forms of bars, shakes, whey protein drinks, etc.
My friends are all doing the exercise portion and say they are the MOST DIFFICULT workouts of their lives. Be careful! |

Is this the Tony Horton video? I had it and it is very, very hard especially after not exercising for 2 months. I did like the workouts because they were very challenging and the schedule he puts you on changes weekly. I did end up returning it though because 1)the workouts were way too long. One video was 1 1/2 hours long and I just didn't have that kind of time in the mornings. 2) You needed alot of extra equipment that I didn't want to spend more money on.

| What extra equipment do you need? |
| OP here - Apparently there is a separate dvd for female/male, and one of my friends got the female one and her and husband follow that one - apparently the male one was way too hard for him and he is already super fit and so is she and it was still really hard. Oh boy....maybe Ill stick to the gym. |

I haven't heard of separate DVDs--we have the P90 X (DH bought it) but haven't used it yet. I have made several of the meals from their diet/nutrition book and the ones we've tried have been very tasty. And it's not crazy carb-free, either, one of the recipes uses brown sugar.
For equipment you need dumbbells (maybe bands work too, they do for the regular power 90) and a chin up bar. You might want to look into Power 90 instead of X--we have friends who have gotten into great shape using that video. |
| P90X does not have separate male/female videos, so PP might be thinking of a different program. You need a chin-up bar, exercise mat and free weights in a couple sizes. Haven't tried it yet...scared frankly! |
| I do P90x and there is not a man/women set. I do the more cardio geared workouts. The videos do take about 1 hr each. Although I hate to strech, so I always skip that part (saves about 15 mins). The workouts are difficult, but do produce result. Also, you change which DVD you are doing each day, so it keeps it interesting. If you have bad knees I would not recommend. There is a lot of jump training (plyometrics) which is hard on the knees. Only equipment is dumb bells, strech cords ( i don't use a pull up bar). |
