Berger-Weiss and Sommerville

Have any of you had either of these doctors for your birth (at Holy Cross)? If so, how was your experience?

I've been a patient at that practice for years, and they delivered both of my children (Dr. Berger-Weiss my first, and Dr. Levitt my second). I can't say enough good things about them-- my labor and delivery experience was probably as good as it gets. I'd be happy to share more if there are any specific issues/concerns that you have.

Thanks. I have to be induced (no choice, for a medical reason), and those are the 2 doctors who are on duty for the dates we're considering -- so was hoping to hear good things about them? Were you induced? I'm hoping to not have a c-section (although I know c-section rates are higher from inductions) and am hoping for doctors who aren't too eager to do C's. Of course if that's what I need for my safety or the baby's, that's what I'll do. I've read Dr. B-W respects patients wishes (as far as not having constant fetal monitoring, if that's what they want, etc.; I might require it, because of being induced).

I've been going to that practice for most of my pregnancy (after switching from Dr. Picco early on) and have been very happy with them ... and am hoping to remain so after the delivery!

I am the 12:26 poster. I also had to be induced with my second (when Dr. Levitt was on call at the hospital) and it all went fine -- no C section, very easy compared to my first. In fact, Dr. Levitt told me that if all if his deliveries went that smoothly he wouldn't have so much gray hair!

Anyway, I can't speak to Dr. Berger-Weiss or Dr. Sommerville's propensity to urge C sections or not, but I did have a very positive experience (relatively speaking, of course) with Dr. Berger-Weiss when I delivered my first. I really like her bedside manner anyway, and she was just as terrific during the L&D process.

Good luck to you-- I really have a lot of faith in this group of doctors so I hope you are as pleased with them as I was!

I am going to this group of doctors now, and I would give them an A+ for professionalism and responsiveness. I have had no problem with billing or getting appointments. However, I also feel like they move me in and out too quickly and give me the briefest answer possible to my questions when I am seeking more details such as exercise, diet, mood swing management (-:

I would prefer a midwife but I can't find one who delivers at Holy Cross.
