Anyone planning to apply from North Arlington? I don’t know much about the school.

What do you mean?

The OP means that Campbell, like ATS or the immersion programs or the montessori programs, is now open for county-wide transfers through a lottery system.

Another poster was asking about Randolph and Campbell on this board - I'd look at what she wrote. I know one family there and they are pretty happy there, but I wouldn't drive across county for it unless I really hated our home school. My friends are there because they didn't want Carlin Springs.

I think it’s slways been open to applicants across the county but they didn’t provide transportation outside of the defined boundary. We looked at it and liked it but didn’t want to drive across the county for it.

That’s a haul from, say, Lee and Glebe.

Want to learn about Campbell, read the thread about APS and the lottery. There are some really interesting parents that go there. If you are white and middle class, at least one of the parents does not want you there, especially if you live in north arlington.

I was initially attracted to the school for DS who enters K in 2 years. But that parent is a huge turn off.

Wait, you're going to write off an entire school- where you can assume there 100s of parents- because one parent posted something in an online forum, defending the school's policy of giving admission priority to low income VPI students who have already spent a year in the building?

Anonymity allows for a freewheeling, Wild West expression of opinions that you seldom encounter in real life. You could find privately a$$holish parents from any school if you hit on the right topic. Don’t let that person alter your plans- s/he would LOVE that. Secretly.
