In TWW, looking for earliest signs of pregnancy

Anonymous
I'm starting to look for signs and I'm only 5dpo. Had a big dip in temps yesterday and back high today. What were your first signs and what dpo was it? How soon did you get a bfp?

I'm in a similar boat. I got a BFN at about 7dpo. I know, too early. I am waiting to see if AF comes this weekend before I test again, but I'd love to see the answers to OP's post.

I never understand postings like this. Even if some women have certain signs this does not mean that if you have the same symptons you are pregnant. The reverse is also true. Every woman is different. If someone says they were more tired does this mean that you will assume that if you are also tired you are pregnant? There is a reason for pregnancy test.

I agree with PP, questions like this are always pointless. Talk about grasping at straws.

with both my pregnanciesI started to feel tired around 8-9 dpo and my boobs started to hurt. Oh....one nipple (right one) was bigger than the other. Of course, everyone's body is different. The tiredness gave it away for me.

5dpo is too early for implantation, so it's too early to be analyzing supposed pg symptoms. (Ok, now someone is going to say "well, I had symptoms at 5dpo")

Seriously, though, you are going to drive yourself nuts.

folks - this is the TTC discussion and SUPPORT forum.

making a statement - 'grasping at straws' is not supportive. If you don't have something to add - go post on the discussion about RSVPing to birthday party invites.

I agree - it is such a hard road we all "grasp at straws" to get through the looooonng waiting periods we have. At every stage of our journey I have spent the waiting time comparing my symptoms with others' (2WW, waiting for transfer, waiting for BFP, waiting for betas, waiting for more betas to see if doubling/twins/etc, waiting for heart beat)

OP we got our first BFP 9dpo and symptoms were tiredness and cramps.

OP we got our first BFP 9dpo and symptoms were tiredness and cramps.

I am not sure when I o'd, but given those symptoms, I must be pregnant every month, including this one.

If I had back all the time I spent reading online about early pregnancy symptoms when I first started TTC, I'd have time to solve the crisis in the Mideast or get a second job to pay for all these IVF treatments. OP, learn from my mistakes and please try to not drive yourself crazy analyzing every possible symptom! I know it's hard, but try to distract youself - or think about all the times you were tired/hungry/whatever and were not pregnant... Hang in there and I hope you get that BFP soon!!!!

one day at a time.......................................i agree w/ the pp's in that every woman is different and the best way to know is if you get a BFP on a blood test. other than that you're going to drive yourself crazy.

From someone who got her first BFP after several BFN here is my 2 cents. Looking back now I can tell you that I had bad cramps and felt a little nauseaus etc. But the funny thing is had I gotten a BFP on any of the other cycles I could have easily analyzed my symptons during that cycle and told you I was tired etc. My point is what ever cycle we learn we are pregnant we look back and make determinations such as, "Oh that must be why I felt tired that Wednesday" but the truth is I could have easily made the same inferences had I received BFP on previous cycles.

I had a BFN 8 days DPO and a BFP one day later. I had absolutely no symptoms at all. In fact, I really had no symptoms throughout the first 2 months of my pregnancy except some low back pain for a few days at 6 weeks. I felt pretty normal and was hoping for morning sickness so at least I'd feel like I was pregnant!! It never came though. (I'm 13 wks now.) Anyway, like people have said... everyone is different... it's just a waiting game. Good luck!

At around 9 DPO I had noticeable cramping (which only lasted for a day max), and diarrhea. Also a weird, slimy discharge (sorry if TMI!). Got the BFP around 13 DPO.
Good luck to you!!!!!
