Any recommendations? I’d rather not go the therapy route.

The book of Matthew from the Bible.

It depends - do you need to forgive someone else, or yourself?

Something that really helped me was a Hawaiian Huna meditation that guided me though the forgiveness process.

I highly recommend Belinda Farrell's Chant and Forgiveness, a Huna Odyssey.

You have to keep an open mind, sit in a quiet space and go though the guided ritual and meditation. It's very healing.

This is a little 'out there' but it really helped me gain some perspective on the difficult relationships in my life, including self-healing:

'Same Soul, Many Bodies" by Brian Weiss.

It's about past life regression therapy, but the storytelling is fascinating.

I was going to say the Bible too. Read about Joseph in Genesis. It’s a beautiful story about forgiveness. He forgave so many people.

Real Mercy by Father Jacques Phillipe is a fantastic book on Mercy and Forgiveness. The 2nd chapter / essay focuses on Forgiveness within the family. It really helped me work through some very painful struggles and through the process also drew me closer to faith.

"The Untethered Soul" by Michael Singer. It is not forgiveness-specific, but includes a total approach in spiritual evaluation of the way you see your life and let stuff go.

When i was younger, and recently abandoned by a long term partner, my Catholic parents handed me a tiny book on “acceptance”. It really, really helped. I don’t know where you might get this but I am pretty sure a local church would help.
