I've taken up jogging and find that the sports bras that I usually wear to the gym are not sufficiently supportive. I'm 42 years old, and a 32D, so a bit droopy, and don't want to make it worse by jogging in an unsupportive bra. Any recommendations for a supportive sports bra that won't break the bank? |
I like Champion sports bras -- they grade them by impact so you don't get stuck with a pretty/suitable for yoga bra when what you wanted was something you can run in, and they go on very deep sales very often. Plus the return policy is legit. |
Another large-chested lady here. I just got the Last Resort bra from Title 9. https://www.titlenine.com/product/the-last-resort-bra-313801.do?sortby=ourPicksAscend&refType=&from=fn
It is not sexy or cute but it keeps the girls in place. I have recently started working out again and it makes me more more confident about myself. This is the only one I have found to work. |
Go to lululemon, try on a few of their bras and go from there. The energy bra is really good. |
Yes, this. I am a 36F and this bra works for me. I wore it when I was a D cup and you do not move, at all. |
Victoria's Secret - the ones that a regular bra cup underneath with a sports bra zipped over top. Your girls will not budge an inch. |
I bought this Nike Sports bra last fall after having some unfortunate chafing issues. It’s a game changer. Totally keeps things in place. The only downside is that it’s a racerback and takes a little contorting to get into it.

I have this bra. I have DD breasts. My books kept nearly flying out and hitting me in the face, when doing burpees and mountain climbers in this bra. I wouldn't think of using it for running - moving comfort juno works well for me, or panache. Athleta has a good selection. But the VS bra? Only low impact, from now on! |
Seriously, how? I am 34D (so not quite as large) and they literally do. not. move. The cup portion is already pretty secure feeling (much more than a regular bra) and then the zippered sports bra pretty much straps them down. I do a ton of plyo-type exercises. I don't even understand how they could be "flying out" when they are covered by fitted cups and a second layer on top. |
I don't find them to be sized well. The under cup is too tight, and the outer zipper portion is too big/stretchy, which makes for an "insecure" situation boob-wise. Plus the zipper pops out and looks weird, like a bad spine. And the adjustable strap doesn't stay in place - it shifts when you move. Maybe it works for you, but VS bras don't work for my DD impact workouts, at all. |
OP, I'm similarly well-endowed, and a runner. I've always worn THREE tight sport bras to eliminate bounce. It makes me almost flat-chested, but prevents damage/droop.
You aren't going to get ideal support with one sport bra. Just accept this and wear two or three at once. |
Try Title 9. |
I cannot recommend this bra more highly. Yes it is insanely expensive (sometimes you can find it on sale). Like the PP above I used to layer two or three bras.

Freya is great! I have H cups. I can hop straight up and down and they don’t move. I bought mine used on eBay, but it would be worth every penny if I’d bought it new. |
