Halfway between DC and Cincinnati

DH and I are having to drive to Cincinnati to help move his mom into a retirement home. While it’s not a long drive (8 ish hours) we would like to break it up on the way back and have a night just to us after what is expected to be a stressful weekend. Any nice hotels in the middle somewhere? I’ve never done the drive so open to anything.

I do this drive 3-54 times a year. Wheeling WV is about 1/2 way. There is a very pleasant Hampton, extraordinarily clean Hampton at the Wheeling exit. Don't waste your money on Oglebay. The rooms there are not worth the money and the food is not great. The spa, however, is fantastic. There is a best kept secret restaurant about 1/2 way up the mountain to Oglebay called Stratford Springs. Great steaks and seafood. Casual seating in the bar and you can order from the menu there.
