In-Home Daycare for Infant

Hi,
I was just told my due date today (the first week of May) and was instructed that I should try and find daycare immediately. I am looking for full-time in-home daycare (or maybe even 4 days a week) for an infant beginning June 2010. We would prefer somewhere in the District. You have plenty of time. If you were looking for a day care center, you'd need to be getting on wait lists now. But in-home day cares, even in DC, don't operate the same way. When I was calling around to find one, most told me to wait until 2 to 3 months before I needed a slot. They just didn't know what their openings would be any more in advance, and they don't maintain the crazy waiting lists that centers do. I found my provider when DS was 5 weeks old, and he started daycare when he was 16 weeks. Good luck to you.
