School for Friends -- would it help to send a follow up note

We are hoping to send our daughter to School for Friends starting this fall (she'll be almost 2). It's our first choice, and I know the admissions process is something of a combination between a waitlist and a decision based on more subjective factors. The school noted on its website that it gets about 4 applications for every open spot, so I was thinking of sending a note to the school stressing our interest and the fact that we would definitely enroll our daughter, if given a spot. Would it seem weird and overly enthusiastic, or would it be welcome?

*shrug* i wasn't wedded to the idea. I just know a lot of schools care about yield and would rather offer a spot to someone they know would take it. I wasn't sure if that applied to a preschool.

As a former director, I would welcome an honest follow up note. Just don’t be too sappy or fake. Honesty and friendliness would go a long way with me.

As long as it isn’t obnoxious I don’t see why not. I sent follow up emails for myself, just to check status and was glad I did as the acceptance letter was lost in the mail. This was a few years back though so perhaps they do email now rather than snail mail.
