Received a call from unknown number - says they are MySchoolDC

I received an odd call from an unknown number asking me whether I've filled out the school lottery application. Somebody with only a first name and didn't recite to me any of my children's names. It seemed odd because I couldn't figure out what she wanted to know exactly since she didn't seem to have information about our (pending) submission at hand. Is this normal?

A couple years ago I got a call from a schools choice group that sounded like that. I think I had given then my name at the dc schools expo before I realized what exactly they were. But the person I spoke with the expo was helpful about the myschooldc process.

Any chance you signed up for something like that?

Just don't give any info over the phone, per usual practices!
