Disney or Caribbean destination?

We go away every Feb. for a family vacation and we've been talking about where we want to go next year.

DH is pushing Disney. Kids will be 10, 8, and 6. We've been twice before. I'm thinking of a Caribbean beach vacation, maybe to someplace like the Dominican Republic where there's more adventuresome things to do to tempt the older kids like ziplining and ATVs.

The only thing is, I suspect everyone else in the family would prefer Disney.

What would you choose?

If everyone prefers Disney and they’re at the prime age for it, go to Disney.

Have the kids gone to the Caribbean before and still prefer Disney? Or they are only going with what they know? I love Disney, own a timeshare there, but I would still choose the Caribbean for those ages if you haven't gone there with them before. Also if you are looking for adventure and zip lining, check out Costa Rica.

OP here. Yeah we've been to the Caribbean before. We're going to St. Lucia next month, for example.

I'm saving this trip for when our youngest is a little older, maybe 8 or so. I read about the Rafiki Lodge on here and definitely want to do the Super Lekker trip with them.

Why Feb? Are you in NY?

If you are going to the Caribbean next month and your kids want to go to Disney in February, then why are you debating this?

Because I don’t want to go to Disney World again? Lol

Let Dad go to Disney with the kids some days and go outlet shopping, to a movie, spa yourself.

You are outvoted in your family and already going to the Caribbean.

Why not do Disney but slow the pace? Stay at a nice resort, have a couple non park days to lay by the pool, get a massage, eat at a couple of the nicer restaurants. You don’t have to tour the parks commando style.

you could also do universal instead. it's more relaxing, still spend the same time there, but enjoy it. relax in the afternoons at the pool. go for a few hours a day. the older kids will love it and your younger one will likely also have a good time. We just did it with a 7 and 11 year old and it was great fun.

OP here. This is the compromise we made. We'll do the Disney Parks for a few days and then Universal. I've never seen Harry Potter World and I've always wanted to see it (big fan of the books).
