| Does anyone have a recommendation of a place to stay in Santorini that would have a good view of the water, but would still be accessible to a senior citizen who can't take a huge number of stairs? I realize that the best places are on the cliff side, and we'd love to be up high but we don't know if that will work. If you know a place that's close to a main road and would be more accessible by car I'd love to hear about it! It's really hard to tell from hotel web sites and it's been frustrating to try to correspond with each one over email. |
| I stayed in the Volcano View last time I was there...should fit the bill. |
| Santorini is not very accessible. There is a town there, Oia, that is completely inaccessible to cars and motorcycles, if that tells you anything. Lots of stairs. Also, the beaches I remember were accessible via a very steep path. You might find somewhere to stay, but, you will not be able to walk around and see much. They do have donkeys so maybe you can hire one to get to your hotel? Otherwise you may want to rethink the destination. |
Thanks. We've been there before. She can certainly walk around enough to see things and we know we can take a bus tour of the island as well. I just don't want her to have to take tons of stairs every time we leave or come back to the hotel. That's why I was wondering about something closer to the main road. |
