Infertility Support and Discussion
| i have a sucky feeling that i'm not p/g. took a test this evening. negative. my cycles are usually 32 days. i've never in my life taken one so early. the wait is killing me. when is a reasonable time to give the pregnancy test a try? not til after the missed period? |

Do you know when you ovulated or how long your luteal phase is? That is much more relevant than average cycle length. The # of days before ovulation can vary a lot, but the # of days after you ovulate (luteal phase) until your period starts won't vary by more than a day or so from one month to the next. Average is 14 days, but it could be as short as 10-11 or as long as 16-17 days. Once you know what it is, though, it should be consistent from cycle to cycle.
Long way of saying you may have tested way too early. Especially since you just had a miscarriage, your body could take a while to get back to normal and you could have ovulated late this cycle. I think the farther along you were at the time of the m/c, the longer it may take to get back to your normal cycle. I am very sorry for your loss. I just had an early loss, so I am sort of in the same boat as far as not knowing what my body is going to do this cycle & it is frustrating to have to guess and wonder. |

It took almost 4 months for my cycles to normalize after a m/c. As soon as they did, I got pregnant immediately.
Good luck, m |
| I'm with you. AF not due until Friday (based on OPK) or SUnday, based on 28 day cycle. I average about 28. Even knowing that I took an HPT yesterday. Now I am working on convincing myself to wait until at least Friday to test again. Good luck. |
| My cycles have been somewhat wonky since my m/c in May. I got my first AF 35 days after the m/c, then a 31 day cycle followed by a 38 day cycle. My usual cycle is 30-31 days. Don't be discouraged yet. Your body may need just a bit more time to recover. Good luck. |
| OP here. Thanks everyone. Yeah, prior to my m/c and with DC #1, I used the clearblue electronic fertility monitor. I shoudl have started it back up for this one, but forgot. So, I think I ovulated around Labor Day weekend, but not sure. Anyway, given that prior to the m/c, my cycles were 31-32 days, I'd be expecting my period this weekend, if that holds true. Guess I shouldn't even think about testing til the end of next week... |
