Hi parents,
The gaggle of middle-school boys in our neighborhood often gathers for movie nights, and we're in search of new titles. One of the boys really doesn't like action films with violent deaths, so comedies are the way to go. As a mom, I really oppose many of the sexist stuff out there (Airplane was vetoed recently). Any suggestions for good PG or PG-13 movies for a group of 12- and 13-year-old boys? |

Goonies
Ferris Bs Day Off Happy Gilmore Dumb and Dumber Ghostbusters The Three Amigos Men In Black Pirates of the Caribbean (action but also funny) Th Sandlot Elf |
| Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure |
| SPACEBALLS |
| I'd check Common Sense Media Web site. You can search by genre and age and they have critic, parent and kid reviews. |
| During the snow days my boys watches the Ernest goes to camp movies. They were cracking up. |

Ferris Beuhlers Day off is hilarious, perfect tor the age and has stood the test of time.
Mall Cop is surprisingly funny and is very mild in terms of violence, maturity, etc. I would say ages 10 or 11 and up. |
Also Not a comedy, but Apollo 13 is perfect for that age of kids. No violence. No sex. |
Yeah, more in the not-necessarily comedy genre - Back to the Future, Raider of the Lost Ark, Rudy, Holes, Karate Kid, Groundhog Day, Wargames Also, Napoleon Dynamite |
