The grade 2 Screening Pool has been set for Spring 2018 screening. The grade 2 Screening Pool will include students scoring a 132 composite score on the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) and/or a 132 on the Naglieri Nonverbal Ability Test (NNAT). Parents/guardians of pool qualifying students will be notified by the student's school.

Childs are referred even the child met the scores, AART Teachers request to submit the referrals

^^thanks for the info but this thread about PARENT RERERRALS

It would be helpful for all parents who were not in the pool but REFERRED to see what the CogAT total VQn and component parts of other parent referral students.

It seems to me like it would be better to ask this question in a few months to find out the subscores of referred students who got in.

For those who parent referred, knowing scores are lower to begin with, are you expecting denial first round and appealing with a WISC?

PP with the really low scores here. We might but I would like to see GBRS first. If GBRS is high then we will definitely do a WISC. But if we do a WISC we would only appeal if it comes back fairly high as well. We may also decide to just try to refer next year. Obviously, we just received these scores so we are just now thinking through next steps.

We have low scores too...planning to do WISC no matter what GBRS are. Won’t appeal unless WISC is strong enough.

What was NNAT score? Was that low too?
Anonymous
NNAT was low as well, 109

I would plan on getting a WISC no matter what the GBRS are, if you think your child belongs.

Why no scores? Come on PP.
