| Hi I am very concerned. My daughter has always talked to herself but now she plays video games and talks to the screen as she is playing. Very strange right. She also plays with slime and pretends she is making a video. She is a kid that seems to always need stimulation so this may be it? But it is strange. Otherwise she is a happy child. |
| This doesn’t fall into things to be “very concerned” about category |
| Not strange. Creative. |
| You’re very concerned becaaaauuuuuse.... |
| How old is she? |
26. |
| OP she is 14. I am concerned that she talks to herself excessively and can’t stop. I don’t ever remember doing this |
| You are the weird one op. My 12 year old has always done this and I love it. I love listening to it. |
| my 14 year old son does this too always has since he has been a toddler. |
| sounds normal to me too. |
It sounds like when people yell at the refs through their tv. DH was watching a game on the DVR last week because it started while he was at work. He was going crazy yelling at the ref. I told him that I was pretty sure that the red could hear him through the tv, but I didn’t think he could go back in time and change the call
It’s annoying but it’s not anything to be concerned about. I didn’t let my kids have a YouTube account to post videos until they were 13, and before then they’d pretend to make videos because they wanted to be like the youtubers they were fans of. It’s like pretending to be a superhero after watching or reading about Batman or whomever the kids are into these days. When I was in college I was obsessed with Julia Child. If I was alone, id narrate my cooking, doing my terrible JC impression, even if I was making ramen or a can of soup. It’s no big deal. |

My 11 year old son does it, too. I did pretend play like that forever, but I just had the conversation in my head. I day dream now. Great ones. I'm old.
To me, it's a sign of a creative mind. |
| Are you sure she's talking to herself? I'd bet she's talking to other players |
|
Lots of people talk to themselves, like my husband and two kids.
I talk to myself all the time, but... not out loud. I'm the smartiest!
|
| Doesn't sound odd to me. |
