| For those who have been diagnosed with Hashimoto’s disease, how did you discover it? Did you request special testing? Should I go to a GP to have this testing done or consider just making an appointment with Dr. Abbasi (this is all in the context of infertility)? Thanks for any advice. I’m just feeling very sad and unwell, but I’m not sure if it’s medical or mental. |
Mine happened to come up in the context of an annual physical exam (my labs). I was extremely hyperthyroid, and then I turned to Hypothyroid after that. I now see an endocrinologist. I wasn't having any symptoms at that point, except anxiety. Now that I'm hypothyroid, I get fatigue, brain fog, and occasional sluggishness. |

I am sorry that you've been diagnosed with Hashimotos and feel down.
I have a mild case of hypothyrodism (elevated TSH, etc.). My primary physician didn't think it was an issue because numbers were not very high (i.e. above 5) but Dr. Abbasi thought the numbers were high for TTC and has prescribed me with synthroid. I have been taking for a while with no side effects and my TSH level has been kept very low as a result. Good luck! |
