It happens after about 15 minues of spinning or elliptical. Does anyone know what this might be and whether I should be concerned? It is distracting and makes it hard to continue my workouts...Perhaps an ill-fitting shoe? Thanks!
I used to get this bike riding - my biking shoes were too tight
This happens to me on the elliptical. I have poor circulation in general. I am not sure if its something to be concerned about. I'll ask my doctor next time i go.
I get this too. I find it helps to loosen the laces. It happens when my shoes are too tight (not too small) and the tightness is usually coming from on top of my foot. I also get it from shoes that don't fit my arch right, which also affects constriction on the top of my foot. It makes sense to me, since there are so many big veins on the tops of feet.
PP again. I also don't have great circulation, but bad circulation isn't always a sign of something else bad. Do be aware though that diabetes is connected with foot numbness, but if yours is only happening in a particular situation, i wouldn't be concerned about that.
Thanks for the replies! It helps to know I am not the only one this happens too. It never happens when I am walking...I will try loosening the sneakers to see if that helps. --OP
I had this issue, and I have a heart condition so I was concerned. My cardiologist recommended what all of the other posters here have recommended - bigger sneakers! I now size up in my sneakers and it happens less frequently. I also went to a running store to be specifically fitted with the right kind of sneakers for my feet. Good luck!
i 2nd getting fitted for sneakers -- while my DH is no athlete and wears sneakers just as weekend wardrobe, he has totally noticed a difference now that he gets his shoes profssionally fitted.
Same problem. Went to Gotta Run in Pentagon Row. Got fitted by a super nice salesperson who watched me walk and run with only my socks on. Was wearing shoes 1 entire size too small. Shocking really. Now, no foot or knee pain.

I also have this problem when running.
Some New Balance sneakers have extra toe space cut into them, like first class for your toes instead of coach You don't have to buy a size up for the rest of your foot.

I used to get it from the elliptical - it's from keeping your feet static (still) during exercise. I found that my feet were more static on certain elliptical machines over others (must have something to do with the angle on which my feet are set).
