Very likely to be about the health and reign of King Charles, who has cancer.

Who is maple leaf fields and why does anyone believe them?

Great question!

It's a made up scenario

This sounds like DM writers are speculating. I mean, it could all be true and it seems reasonable and that’s why the DM published it. But it’s pure speculation.

Why did they twice post a picture of Kate with her fingers in those bandages? Didn’t they have any other stock photos at all, given the current rumors?

It seems they are really trying to close a tight circle - including keeping staff out - as she deals with this medical issue, which she apparently is feeling personal about. She is not Queen yet so this is her last chance to do such a thing, most likely.

I think their marriage is fine. I wouldn't be surprised if she came out and talked about this situation when she is feeling mentally and physically better.

I don't think she edited the photo but I do think she may have taken the blame willingly so as not to repeat the hospital worker suicide situation.

But it was all so unnecessary. There were so many other obvious ways to handle an incompetent staffer.

Announce to the world that "mistakes were made by staff" and don't name anybody. There, nobody will ever know the staffer's name. Sure, somebody could leak that staffer's name, but you can bet KP already knows the staffer's name and somebody could leak it today if they wanted to.

Then, either get the staffer training or move them laterally to some position where they don't have social media responsibilities. Done.

We have no idea what happened. It's been a week. Bickering over fan fic scenarios at this point is more than repetitive.

I wrote that. Lots of us work in senior positions for well-known companies, and this is HR 101/crisis management 101.

Insulting anyone who disagrees with you is a bad look.

But you are apparently coming from an incorrect perspective. So your experience is steering you (and others) wrong.

What? Are you saying that KP, Kate, and William are all either incredibly naive, incredibly incompetent, incredibly dumb, incredibly hubristic, or all of these? And I use the word “incredibly” because it’s not credible.

The sighting of Kate and William at a farm shop without the kids (or photos) is just the kind of planted item the palace can use to keep Kate getting positive news while giving her space to recover. It makes perfect sense.

But because of the insane faked photo with the lies about when it was taken, people are either going to think it's a lie or think it's a planted story to distract from something worse going on, maybe with Charles.

No, your perspective seems to be that a PR staff exists to both bolster their principal and to take the blame for mistakes. But KP is known to be extremely protective of their staff and to allow no blame towards them. Also, their reputation is built over time, by rising above problems, so they don't need to blame someone for every mistake. They just need to carry on.

Your perspective seems to be short term and focused on a different way of operating.

No it has to be about Kate! And please to ignore the image in that unbiased Twitter user’s account.

No, most people aren't that cynical...

But staff in these scenarios know, or should know, that they are expendable.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but it seems a bit silly if they are not aware of their role. Which is to keep the ball rolling, to keep the Palace moving, protect the Royals for as long as they are in the role. It's not a lifetime role, they are not perfect, but they are also not permanent.

But the BRF are not celebrities. (Also, for various reasons, they don't have the best staff. They probably do need protecting from time to time, more often than "better staff" might.)

No, the long-term perspective is to protect the future Queen. I don’t know how you could think otherwise.

Especially when they don’t even need to name an individual staffer. It would be so easy to protect both an individual staffer and the future Queen at the same time.

Your perspective seems to be that KP staff are more important than the people who run KP and may soon run the country—Kate and Wills. I couldn’t disagree more.
