is Godiva chocolate a ripoff scam?

Nibbling on some truffles we were given. Don't taste as well as I remembered. About to pitch what I believe is a $100 box of chocolates. What's the best chocolate that's reasonably easy to find?

Godiva was sold about a decade ago, and has gone downhill.

I briefly considered going there and then didn't.

Thank you.

Simple Dove milk and dark chocolate. Simple with no side taste. Never mind Godiva. What the hell is Hershey selling!

This or Leonidas (in Georgetown) are probably the best chocolate in DC. And the most expensive. I believe both are European chocolate and imported.

I'm a plebe. My favorite is Hershey's. I've never cared for Godiva, before or after being bought.

There seem to be more local chocolate shops now. Check out Bluprint in Old Town or SPAGnVOLA or J Chocolatier.

With Godiva, you're paying for the name.
The ingredients are now pretty trashy.
