| DH and I have been trying for baby number three for the last 5 months. DH is currently 31 and I'm 30. It took us 5 months to get pregnant with number one, and with number two we got pregnant the first cycle we tried. I've been sick quite a bit throughout that time (two separate cough/colds, the stomach flu, and influenza... it's been a rough year), so I've been assuming that's been making it harder for us to conceive. But something that does have me worried is my periods have been getting shorter and shorter. I used to have pretty predictable 27 day cycles. My cycles returned to this about 6 months after having my second born (now 2.5 years old). But the last five cycles, they have been getting shorter each cycle (26, 25, 25, 23, and 22 days). Has anyone else had this happen? Could it be due to the illnesses? |
| Get your levels checked. I had a few cycles like this and turned out my progesterone was off. Once that was fixed, it was back to normal, and I got preg within 3 cycles. |
| I doubt you will get pregnant with cycles that short. Go to your OB on day 3 of your next period and have your day three levels checked. |
| I conceived my first with 23-24 day cycles. Now trying for a second without any luck and 21 day cycles. I know from charting temperature and the Clearblue monitor that my cycles are short due to early ovulation (not necessarily bad), not a short luteal phase (big problem). |
| Thanks for all of your input. Since we're still early in the game, I wasn't sure if it was too early to go in to the doc; however, I also wasn't sure if this was something to be concerned about. I'll make an appointment to get things figured out. |
This was me too but I had the 23-24 day cycles. The month I got pregnant I ovulated on day 11 |
| PS- never too early to go to the doc |
How did you fix it? |
low dose of oral progesterone. |
