My breast pump's AC adapter bit it. I've tried to buy one online, but the ameda web site says that it's out of stock, and the only other web site that seems to sell it has been "having trouble getting it from the manufacturer."
So does anyone have suggestions on how to find one (without buying a new pump)? Or does anyone have one that still works that you don't need? I know, I know--you've probably thrown it out if your breast pump isn't working any more, but I figured it's worth asking. I live in NoVa, but work downtown--and I'd be more than willing to travel to pick one up. I'm tired of feeding this thing batteries. It's been a month now! Thanks-- Lori |
It looks like your pump has a standard tip. You should be able to get a generic adapter. Just make sure you match the wattage.
That said, in looking for a picture to help answer your question, I found several places (on froogle) that seem to have the actual ameda on for sale. Check here: http://www.google.com/products?q=ameda+breast+pump+ac+adapter&ie=UTF-8&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1 |
Ameda's products must be rather shoddy because my pump sounds like it is dying after only a few months of use. I am more worried now of their quality after reading about your car adapter.
Yes, the batteries are a huge pain. I wish I could help you more... |
Yes, per second post, just find one that's compatible. I have an ameda and needed a car adapter last month...husband looked at the voltage / amps (whatever...) and bought one at radio shack for $8 - works fine. |
Lori, I have an extra Ameda adapter you can have. I work downtown near Metro Center. Please email me. elenaip@ekit.com |
Thanks, folks. I was missing the idea that I could buy a generic (I confess, I'm not a genius with the electricity-related products).
I'm actually looking for a wall-plug adapter, not a car-plug adapter. Thanks, PP, for offering yours--I'm emailing you offline. |
Did you try calling the Breastfeeding Center of Washington on 21st and K in Washington DC? I have purchased replacement parts for my Ameda pump there. The website is http://www.breastfeedingcenter.org/
