How long are you walking your dog today?

Have a high-energy terrier mix and she really loves her walks. Usually gets at least two 30 minute walks a day, but it's so cold out today I don't know how I'll last 30 minutes! Not even sure if it good for her to be outside that long either?

Our german shepherd, unfortunately, doesn't really seemed phased by the cold. He's currently sporting a thick winter coat. He normally gets 45+ min in morning, and close to 30 min at noon and 5pm.

Both spouse and I are working from home today, and it's my turn at noon. Will just bundle up and walk fast.

Not long. A few 5 minute sprints, and then a few backyard run arounds. Mostly indoor fetch and play today, instead.

My dog passed away, but before that, in bitter weather, I'd exercise her indoors. She liked fetch or tug of war with a shearling toy. I'd lazily sit at the top of the carpeted steps and throw the toy down. She'd race to pick it up and bring it back. We'd do that 40-50 times, plus tug of war in between. It was at least 30 minutes of exercise, and maybe more. Not as good as daily walks, but better than nothing. Maybe you can do something similar?

I'll aim for two 15-minute walks. My dog wears a "dog coat" that runs down the legs because her fur is very short. I'll just follow her lead around the neighborhood. If she wants to go/stay home, we'll go/stay home.

Tomorrow she has "dog camp" for six hours, which burns off the puppy energy. She loves it, and so do I!

Normal walks today, plus maybe a trip to the dog park.

Not there today, but at this weather I normally walk my golden just under an hour. He loves the cold. But, I do keep an eye if he starts being uncomfortable on his paws, he is an indoor dog so it makes a difference to him. What is a dog camp?

Took both dogs out for their normal 30 minute walk this morning, but I'm off work today so we walked at 9:30 instead of the normal 5:30 (in the dark).

My dog loves the cold (he's one of those long-haired mountain dogs), so I'm bundling up so he can romp around for as long as he wants today. It's the warmer months when I have to be mindful about how long we stay outside.

We've got a big black Lab with a double coat. This is his favorite kind of weather. He typically gets 2 walks (minimum) of 40 minutes (minumum) each daily. In weather like this, I'll take him on the bicycle for a run instead. Same route just a lot faster for me.

We also have a 10lb Toy Poodle. She typically gets walked once a day for 40 minutes. Yesterday, she didn't get an outside walk at all. We just played with her more inside. She doesn't need the outdoor walk like our Lab does. She's getting two 20 minute walks today and will be very bundled up.

New Samoyed puppy owner.
How about going out at 2 am for that potty-break????

Apart from that it's two long walks (45 minutes) and two short walks (10 minutes) a day. He loves it.

And that night last week when the windchill was downright bitter? He was energized!

Meanwhile, his puppy teeth have torn holes through my gloves. Brrr.

I wore under armor cold gear and took a 1 hour walk.

It felt great.

My puppy loves being outside in this cold and actually LAY DOWN on the frosty grass at 6.30am this morning. I do not love it so much. I took him for his usual 2 x 20 minute walks morning and lunchtime and my son ran him around outside the house this afternoon because I couldn't face it.

I took mine to daycare so she could burn off energy there. I hate the cold and this way she’ll eat dinner, go out one more time, then pass out.

One hour walk morning and evening, and then they sat on the patio and refused to come in.
