Dream of Deceased Father

Anonymous
My dad died when I was 20 long before I was married or had kids. Last night, I had a very vivid dream where I was with him. Nothing momentous happened. We were just walking around Chicago with my daughter's girl scout troop -- OK, so not actually an everyday thing! Anyways, I woke up and it feels so strange because it actually feels like I spent time with him. This has only happened about 5 times in over 20 years and I am always curious as to why it happens when it does. Theories?

You are crazy. My ex wife had dreams about her father where he said to get a divorce. Then she filed for divorce. People shouldn't put so much stock in their dreams.

My best friend always says the deceased come to you in your dreams when you need them. Have you been missing him? Stressed? Need a little pick me up?

Op, I have had maybe 2 or 3 dreams like this with my deceased parents. It has been 8 years since they died. I find them to be comforting. In one dream, my Father was telling me something but I couldn't remember it in the morning. I simply had a sense that everything is going to be okay.

You got a visit from your dad. Cherish it. My dads been gone 3 years and it's only happened to me a few times. I miss him so much. Those dreams are so real that it's like we were actually hanging out.

I always dream of my deceased parents. The first few years after they died, I dreamt of them nightly.

I loved those dreams, it was the only time I actually got to be with them. So it was comforting.

I agree, you should cherish these dreams. My dad died earlier this year and I've had a few of them. They are very special and real to me.

It happens because memories live in your brain, and dreams are a function of the brain. It doesn't have to be for a reason and it doesn't have to make sense. It's a freebie. You got to hang out with your dad again. Cool!

You are wishing your father could know your daughter and that your daughter had a grandfather who would be interested in her activities. It's normal to dream this way and you sound like a great Mom.

Your ex wife’s dad’s ghost was right. He should have busted her sooner.

Common dream. A wish to have your father connected to your daughter. These dreams can indeed be intense.
