Infertility Support and Discussion
| Can anyone tell me if these actually work? Like will I really know more accurately when I am ovulating? |

It is my understanding that from a scientific point of view - that 1st Response is the best brand.
Now, with that said for some women the level of LH surge will never trigger a positive test so it will not work for you even though your body is producing the hormone that the test is testing for. Further, it is my understanding that it a positive test will occur a few days before actual ovulation and this is different for each person. There are people who will tell you that it worked for them - and they have 2 kids to provec it - and others who never tested + and have 2 kids as well. I have found that charting BBT and CM was the best indicator for me as to when I was ovulating. I used the ovusoft software to chart http://www.ovusoft.com/ I had early in the process of TTC used ovulation tests and these were not helpful for me. |
| I got pregnant once 5 yrs ago using an OPK, and I am hoping to be pregnant now using one (in 2 week wait and it sucks). I have never taken my temperature, but I do monitor cervical mucus, and the positive OPK coinicided exactly with abundant good CM. |
| I used one of those ovulation kids to detect the LH surge and got pregnant on the first try. I've always had normal cycles, though, so I was pretty sure when I was ovulating... but it was still kind of fun to know around when I was going to ovulate. I would definitely say to try it! |
