Anyone hospitalized during pregnancy and have a healthy baby?

I was admitted to the hospital and was in all last week. Had a nasty virus (docs aren't sure what it was) and it threw my system out of work and various levels, etc. Has anyone been hospitalized and exposed to a bunch while pregnant in the first trimester and been okay? I wish someone could tell me what I had b/c not knowing is also freaking me out. I know some viruses can be very harmful to a baby - especially first trimester and third trimester.

Did they tell you what kind of virus you had? I think most viruses are not harmful to baby - the fear is that flu or other illnesses make pregnant women more susceptible to problems since their immune system is not functioning in full capacity, so it is easier for you to become dehydrated, etc.

I know someone who was so sick from morning sickness she had to be hospitalized to pump fluids in her as she couldn't stop throwing up, her two children are in college now and everything turned out fine (luckily her second pregnany was easier!). Did they tell you why they thought you should be hospitalized? Was it for dehydration, etc.
