Can people see if you check their social media profile if your not friends?

I have to admit I have been stocking a few peoples Instagram and fscebook. Recently one of the people made their page private. Is there a way for them to see who views their page?

Yes. They get a little alert as to what you looked at, for how long, and all the other things you searched for on your computer.

Well the suggested friends can also be friends of friends who have never looked at your profile.

COMPLETLY false, there is no connection to anything by simply looking at someone's profile or photos on FB. This rumor has been around ever since FB started.

I'm sorry, but I have seen too many people that I know with NO mutual friends pop up on my "people you may know" feed for me to believe that they aren't tracking that and suggesting people who look at your feed.
