How often do you experience an issue when you get one?
Signed, someone who is over reserved cars being MIA and cars covered in dog hair |
| Very rarely. Once a car was returned late, and once it wouldn't start. The vast majority of the time, the car is where it is supposed to be, reasonably clean, and gassed up. |

In the five years that I used them (maybe 4 rentals a month), I only had one issue. I rented a Toyota Matrix that wasn't there. They gave me the BMW 3 series beside it for the same price.
On my end, I had two incidents. I was late once because an accident essentially shut down the beltway. They made arrangements for the person after me, and gave me a pass. The other time, a regular car was parked in the spot and all of the other spots on the street were filled. The closest spot was three blocks away, so they had me take pics of the offending car and send them as proof. |

I have used Zipcar 1-2 times a month for about 4 years and have really only had 2 problems, neither of which were my fault and I thought Zipcar handled really well. Episode 1: the car I reserved had clearly been in an accident but it wasn't reported. The car was probably driveable but I didn't want to deal with it. Episode 2: the car I reserved had some issue but they called me before the reservation and switched me to a nearby car, which was bigger, for the same price.
Where are you renting from that keeps having issues? Is it a parking lot or the on-the-street locations? |
| Flat tires, dirty cars, cars that won't start, app not working. I've had all those issues and customer service has taken a nosedive. Currently looking for an alternative. |
| Aside, but I think it would make an amazing murder novel plot to begin by having the protagonist open the trunk of the ZipCar and discover a corpse. |
