For her YES vote on the #TaxScam. As heard on FM 97.1 this morning, a pro-business PAC wants you to call Comstock with your Christmas season Tax Scam thank yous. And expressions of gratitude.
Really disgusting. But, I guess she shares Trump love of adoration while she screws over her constituents. Apparently no one told Comstock she also represents a wealthy area with high housing costs and relatively high SALT. And that this bill polled terribly with her constituents. But there are no lobbyists representing the people in her district. And her vote can be bought. Whatever you do, don’t call Comstock's office and tell her you are disgusted by her vote, and that you are voting for anyone but her in 2018. —signed a Democrat who will save about $15,000 under the new bill, for at least a few year (AMT gone, new tax table and will qualify for kid tax credit). It’s still a terrible idea. |
| And she's got an A rating from the NRA, too! Such a lovely human. |
| I just applied to work for one of her possible opponents |
Excellent, PP! Who are some top contenders for the Democratic primary? I want to look at some records and volunteer for an anti-Comstock campaign too. PSA: I’m in her district (gag). But she has one of the most flippable seats in the House. If you live in a District that is safe for Democrats, nothing is stopping you from donating or volunteering for an anti-Comstock Democrat. |
| So much hate for her on this board, and yet, she got elected. Funny how that works, huh? |
| What a tw@t. |
| What's the phone number? I'll call and give her an earful of how great that TAXSCAM is. Shoving it down the road for the next admin to deal with - meanwhile the US falls further behind the rest of the developed world with our crumbling infrastructure, craptastic education system that has given us this mess and no attention paid to 3 serious and connected crises: healthcare, opioids and automation not to mention the complete destruction of our country's democratic ideals. |
What's your point? |
NP here. I think the point is that Comstock’s flunkies are letting DCUM know that they’re back (since the other thread was shut down) and enjoying their final year in office while they can. |
There was a lot less hate for her in 2016, when she was viewed as a moderate, than there is in 2017-2018, when Rs have the power to do something besides being the opposition. And when she started voting on ACA and tax bills the her contituants hate, and that passed or nearly passed. And the tax bill was not even close in the House. They did not need her vote to get it done. So what was the upside of voting for it? Her constituents hate it. Plus, we have now discovered just how far up Paul Ryan’s ass her head is. And that she not standing up to Trump— who is despised in her district. She inherited her seat. Now people are seeing who she really is. Fortunately, we don’t need to wait 6 years to vote her out. I hope te Republicans primary her with Corey Stewart.

You know some poor intern monitors boards like this and is tasked with responding. Talk about a terrible job. But yep, her tax vote shows that she is preparing for a soft landing in the Trump Admin or on K Street. |
OP here. I was driving, so I didn’t get it written down. But here are good places to start: https://comstock.house.gov/contact In the meantime, the WaPo was brutal on her Tax Scam vote, and how much it hurt NOVA. https://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/right-turn/wp/2017/12/21/rep-comstock-a-case-study-in-how-republicans-lose-the-majority/?utm_term=.8fb95280a6fb |
| I think she knows there’s no way she’ll win in 2018. I bet Ryan as much as said so to her. So she decided to take whatever bribes she was offered and make the most of the time left in office to act like a typical corrupt politician. |
Lindsey Davis Stover, Dan Helmer and Jennifer Wexton are probably the best candidates. http://www.10thcdvadems.org/ PS my daughter's pic is on Lindsey's site. Lindsey is good friends with one of my best friends, who met her through the Emerge program. |
| I should thank her for making me realize that I need to vote straight Democrat next year. |
