Expectant and Postpartum Moms
|
I already have one DC, so I know it's within the realm of possibility that I can get pregnant again and carry to full term. But that one took me 7 mos, and the last pregnancy, which ended in m/c and a d&c, took 9 months to conceive. My m/w said we could start trying again about a month ago.
Just wondering about others' experiences - how long did it take you to conceive and carry to full term after a m/c and d&c? I feel like I see TONS of people saying they got PG right away... and I fear I am setting myself up for a huge disappointment at the end of this cycle... Thanks! |

four months.
good luck! |
| I didn't start trying until about 6 mos after d&c. Got preg first month trying. I've always been super regular, so I had a good idea of when I was ovulating. That said, I'm not quite past 1st trimester yet, so still have fingers crossed with this one. I would say make sure you give yourself a couple of months to recover mentally, then go for it full force. Good luck! |

It's always been really easy for us (knock on wood), and I'm just barely pregnant after my D&C, but for both the m/c and this pregnancy it took just one try. (Our first DC took 2.) Post D&C I waited to get one period, which came at 4 weeks post, so was pregnant again 6 weeks after.
Good luck to you - and I hope it is quicker for you this time! And I am so sorry for you loss

I had a MC last year (no D&C ) and though technically my doctor told us we could start trying inmediately it took almost 4 months for my cycle to become regular again. It was really short or really long with spotting and temps all over the place. When it finally did regulate we conceived on the first try.
Good luck and sorry for your loss. |
| I had my d&c in May, waited 2 months before trying, did not get pregnant until February, so that would be 9 months. |
