Gaming system for 14 y.o.

What do I get? We had a Wii forever, but know he wants XBox. He wants to be able to invite friends over to play and says the Wii is totally over. What are my options? What should I be aware of? Total novice here. Many thanks.

Get the system his friends have (either PS4 or Xbox)

Teen boys don't game at each other's houses. They game online with their friends who have the same system.

In our world, everyone has PS4.

My oldsst had friends with older brothers who got the PS4, so that is the system we bought.

My younger kids' friends all got PS4s, because that is the system we had.

My youngest kid has one friend whose dad bought him an Xbox a few years back. He had no one to game with because none of his good friends had Xboxes, so he received a PS4 for Christmas last year.

If your 14 year old is saying Xbox, it is probably the system his friends have. Try to figure that out.

And for starter games, get him Destany and Madden. That will cover the main ones.
