A thread of optimism: why do you think Trump will win in 2020?

I'd say that's the general sentiment among much of the independent white Boomer electorate.

Maybe among the wealthy class, but certainly not among those still working hard and building their 401k...

You're saying a traveling bathtub salesman still working at age 65 is among "the wealthy class"? Um, OK.

I did not and cannot judge any particular person. What I do notice is that independent boomers in my workplace seem to appreciate the labor market we have and the significant 401k increase they have seen since 2016.

Whether they will vote against their interests is to be seen.

Your problem is this assumption. A non-Trump Presidency can still be synonymous with economic growth and investment.

Not if the policies the current crop of candidates are advocating.

True.

Trumps getting re-elected. The only voters responding to the “we hate trump” call to arms are in this forum. That’s not enough lunatic leftists to get Kampala, or Liz, or buttgag, or creepy joe elected. Unfortunately for the dems , trump has masterfully painted them into a corner where opposing trump means opposing economic growth and national sovereignty. Guess what the electorate cares about?
Not sure any of the dem candidates are smart enough to realize this. I know they’re not smart enough to get themselves out of it.

Yeah thats why the dems won 45 seats in 2018 and a massive blue wave wiped out the GOP in key mid western states.

While the 2018 results might seem to bode well for the Democrats in 2020, we must remember that Trump was not running in 2018. The Republicans running for the House and Senate in 2018 do not have the charisma that Trump has.

So my prediction for 2020 is that Trump wins re-election but the Democrats take the Senate, and increase their advantage in the House. And then impeachment proceedings can begin. (Yeah!)

Very unlikely scenario IMO, remember how in 2016 the GOP did better than expected.

If Trump wins, the GOP maintains/ expands its Senate majority for sure.

I don't expect this post to last long and my ip address will get blocked, but I said it ..........

This is totally tangential and illogical. There is absolutely no relationship between posts/threads getting deleted for whatever reason and a deeply unpopular liar getting re-elected.

He could be re-elected as it is still a mathematical possibility BUT not because posts are deleted here. He COULD be beaten soundly but not because posts are deleted here.

Get a grip on reality and post with atleast some reasoning. Otherwise you are just exposing the idiocy of the MAGA crowd.

They are beyond reason. They live in a world of delusion.

Even with him not being on the ballet increased the dem turnout by millions and it was the highest voter turnout in over 100 years for a mid term.

Charisma? Trump? The stormy spanked fat ass just creates fear of the brown people among the MAGA crowd. Thats all.

The most likely scenario is the conman loses, Dems retain the house BUT GOP holds the senate by 1 seat or senate is tied(advantage dems).

trump will win because people get fooled by smoke and mirrors

i.e., don't care about the long term health/ reputation/ policies of the country, don't care about clean air and water, don't understand that rich people getting significantly richer does not help the average person, don't understand the concept of deficits, international trade policies or economics in general and are happy to vote for someone that pretends to be like them but is really a super rich elitist from New York.

I suspect this will be hard for you to process, but please give it a try OK?

The fact that 37% of Americans say the country is headed in the right track is a BIG improvement....because before the election, for most of 2016, only 20-25% of Americans said the same

Thank you Mr. Trump!!
