I'm with you on Snyderman, but Amber gets a pass. She asked the CDC what to do. They are at fault. Amber may be guilty of a foolish decision, but not, I believe, a selfish one. |
| Guess we just do not have the worlds best healthcare system. Senegal is clear of ebola. |
And not a single one of the 200 passengers was infected as a result. |
I agree about Amber- she sought clearance from the CDC before she traveled. Snyderman, OTOH, was fucking irresponsible and what she did as a physician was borderline unethical. Snyderman should have been fired by NBC. |
Right, much worse to drive around in your own car with no symptoms and not get out, then have an active fever and get on a plane with 170 people. Clearly you are a master of risk measuring. |
Wasn't Snyderman in her own car the whole time? If she never got out of her car (except at home, obviously) how did she put anyone else at risk? |
On her return flight only though. Aren't reports now coming out that it appears she had other symptoms before her first flight to Ohio and why there are now 800 people being contacted/monitored? (actually, not sure if they are going to be monitored/self monitoring - can't remember but would think since they are being contacted?)/ I do appreciate her calling CDC to let them know of her fever, and it's crazy she was cleared. I truly hope she recovers, I feel awful for her that it seems she's doing worse than Nina Pham. But if she wasn't feeling well before her first flight, that was a terrible call on her part to continue with plans. Not just for the potential of exposing people- but for her own health! |
One person cleared her travel with the CDC or at least made them aware that was running a temperature but was not told to avoid travel. The other is a doctor who made a big deal about a self-imposed quarantine because she had been exposed to the cameraman who had ebola -- and then her desire for a fricking soup was so overwhelming that she had to violate the quarantine. |

| How is the lab worker on the cruise ship? What happens to other passengers? |
|
| The reactionary panic and misinformation that this thread demonstrates is far more distressing to me than the profoundly miniscule risk posed to anyone in my world from ebola. |

Observation...think about how you are reacting and the impact of the media hysteria on our children. |
What? Now you're saying travel bans are unwarranted because teens are stupid? |
Observation...think about our terrible education system. |
