I didn't know A Team ENCL/MLSN/GA were JV. |
| BTW, how does any kid who bio-bands get recruited if recruiting by grade is absolute? |
Colleges only look at players graduation date. If you're playing at a grade down level it would be Jr Varsity in their world. |
They don't, which is what multiple MLSN people have said. Being a biobanded player is the kiss of death for playing professionally or in college. |
Not sure how you got endorsement out of that. |
Look, this doesn't match with reality. College coaches, youth coaches don't care about kids ages/grades, just their eligibility. Not sure on why you are trying to use something so obviously incorrect as your premise for creating a situation where your DD is the oldest on her club (while stating that being the oldest doesn't matter). I would think you would have moved on to some other ginned up excuse to make her the oldest by now. Your gambit to try to get traction to make youth soccer grade based in a way to make your September girl the oldest hasn't worked. People have pointed out the flaws and the fact that clubs and leagues are forcing anybody to play up and in fact discourage playing up. You should regroup and try something else. |
Hahaha ok littles There's no agenda. Its all reality. |
So obtuse |
Why would clubs change from encouraging players to play up under BY to discouraging players to play up under SY? |
Unfortunately you lost the debate via ad hominem attacks and faulty assumptions about your opponents standing without addressing the issue. |
For an example of keeping playing up as an individual player rare, see Arlington FAQ, "Arlington Soccer allows flexibility in certain cases, playing up is the exception rather than the rule." |
Oh? Except for these 2: Brian Edelman and Sam Tinoco are both 17, and were bio-banded when they were younger. "It happened to me at 14. I got brought down. And it was disappointing back then, because I wasn't doing as well. And I started doing way better, started focusing on myself and my ability," Tinoco said. "Obviously, it reflects how you're doing, but I think once I started looking at it, like more positively and saying like, this is gonna be a good opportunity for me, I can lead this team now," Edelman added. Tinoco and Edelman are both holding scholarships to play soccer in college. https://www.cbsnews.com/newyork/news/some-club-sports-using-bio-banding-measuring-physical-potential-to-determine-team-placement/ |
From what I've seen many biobands are born after Aug 1 and actually get compared to kids grade appropriate for recruiting purposes once they play down. There are biobands that get recruited. FC Delco has one going D1 who is an '07 that has played with the '08s as a bioband his entire MLSNext career. But he is in the same school class as the '08s. |
|
Guess the Sullivan twins who are '07s that the Union Academy biobanded with their '08s this year really suck too. You people have no clue how often it is done and how successful it is for some kids. |
