typo - "pain got better rather than worse" should be "pain got worse rather than better" |
So why not either bow out gracefully or upgrade himself? My father would never demand things then throw a tantrum. I'm sorry your parents are so incapacitated, but normal parents/grandparents don't act like toddlers. It's embarrassing. |
You are impressively wrong. |
Thank you. |
You’re wrong wrong wrong. |
The entitled people here are the demanding, bratty parents. |
You’re just making up ridiculous stories. Why are you so triggered? |
DP. You seem to be the one who doesn’t understand elderly people with health problems. My parents (mid 70s) are huge world travelers and do a lot of 10+ hour flights. My mom has bad arthritis, two replaced hips, a replaced knee, and drop foot. They’ve still managed to fly economy on every flight. Is it fun? No. Do they “need first class?” Also no. My family just did a red eye 10 hour flight to Europe. There were a lot of people in their 70s back in economy with us. The notion that anyone needs first class is absurd. |
| There is no human right to travel and moreover there is no human right for elderly and sick people to fly first class intercontinental. For environmental reasons the planned trip is idiotic anyway. |
| My kids would be keeping their seats. Grandparents should have dealt with this earlier and bought the seats they wanted. Very childish. |
This. |
+1 If a person isn’t well enough to fly, they aren’t well enough to travel for leisure. |
If either of your kids is a girl watch them carefully. Reports are that there are rings of people there now that put a drug in the drink of a young woman or teen, then rape them, sometimes also killing them. Greek Isles is having an issue with it. A young woman was dismembered and another was drugged but managed to get away |
I do NOT think the parents should give up their seats given the attitude of the teen daughter. Since this is round trip, have the kids fly coach on the way over and the grandparents coach on the way back. |
| Tell your cheap dad to pay for an upgrade and to stop complaining. If he is too old to travel..stay the F home. I am a boomer, bad back, knees, and all. I would never ask my kid to do this. |
