| Any recommendations for wheel alignment for a 2010 car? The reviews at Merchant's and Firestone are scary and don't trust the dealership much (They were pushing me to replace tires and battery 2 years before I actually had to do it). Thanks! |
| I've been to Merchants twice lately and they didn't try to upsell me at all. |
Thanks! I'm not worried about the upsell but rather them doing the job right. |
its called trust, and you have the potential for mistrust with any shop. You are trusting that their mechanics are competent, you are trusting that they won't leave a critical bolt loose, you are trusting them with something you rely on every single day to function safely and reliably... Also remember that more people post bad reviews than people who post good reviews. Doesn't make it any easier to trust... |
| I like my dealer. They do a good job at a reasonable price and don't upsell me. |
| modern cars don't need wheel alignments like our parents old cars. why do you think you need one? |
Dont buy a car form this guy 7 year old car. shock are close to being shot, and after 60K miles on shitty DC area roads, things get out of whack they can put it on the rack and tell you if fall into the spec or not with out doing any work. are your tires showing signs of abnormal wear? does the car pull to one side or the other abnormally... |
i don't know... car 1 - 2004, 178k, never done one, goes straight like an arrow car 2- 2009,125k, never done one, same as car 1 car 3 - 2005, 85k, never done one, straight as arrow |
So you don't know cars. thats OK... cars can go out of alignment i woudl not check it annually, but every few years is nice. and checking the alignment usually doesn't cost much |
so, tell me this mr. mechanic. if my cars drive straight and don't see any uneven wears on my tires (and I do rotate my tires), why should i align? |
